Basically great
"Poor assembly instructions. Great bike (if you put it together right). PS In my photo, note that I added a Lock, Rack, Saddle and Mirror. . . I have ordered a lock in Red, but I haven't received it yet :("
A bike that fits properly is more fun to ride. The guides below offer size suggestion based on height in inches. If you have measuring tape, you may also determine your size by measuring your leg length plus one inch, which is your stand over measurement. For all bikes, we recommend at least 1 inch of space between you and the top tube of the bike. When in doubt, contact our customer service team via email at customerservice@publicbikes.com.

| PUBLIC V1, V7, V7i |
| Frame Size | Rider Height | Effective TT | Standover Height |
| Small/Medium - 46cm | 5'2" - 5'8" | 55.8cm | 29.5" |
| Medium/Large - 54.5cm | 5'9" - 6'3" | 58.9cm | 32" |
| PUBLIC V9 Aluminum |
| Frame Size | Rider Height | Effective TT | Standover Height |
| Small - 46cm | 5'3" - 5'6" | 55cm | 29.5" |
| Medium - 50cm | 5'7" - 5'10" | 57.5cm | 30.8" |
| Large - 56cm | 5'11" - 6'3" | 60cm | 32.5" |
*Please note: some riders may be a little outside of these height range recommendations but prefer the feel of a larger or smaller bike. Stand over height measurement is not as important as how the bike geometry feels while it is being ridden.
The PUBLIC V7i is our most reliable, minimalist, and best-priced internally geared bike.
At its core is Shimano’s Nexus 7-speed internally geared rear hub, designed for smooth, seamless shifting—even when you’re stopped at a light or coasting through the city. Unlike traditional derailleur systems, the gears are fully enclosed within the hub, protecting them from rough roads, bad weather, and everyday wear. The result? A cleaner look, easier operation, and significantly less maintenance.
Comfortable enough for daily cruising and dependable enough to serve as your commuter workhorse, the V7i features a strong double-wall wheelset built for durability. Alloy dual-pivot brakes provide confident stopping power, while polished fenders and an integrated alloy chain guard help keep you clean and dry in changing conditions.
The PUBLIC V7i delivers exceptional quality at an accessible price point.
As with all PUBLIC bikes, we offer our unique Ready to Ride shipping option, delivering a 99% pre-tuned and assembled bike straight to your door.

"Best value for exercise or practical city bike."
"My 1954 Raleigh Sports 3 speed was taking more maintenance time than riding. The Public V7i is a great replacement for the simple and upright riding I enjoy. I was surprised and delighted by the 7 speed thinking 3 was enough. I use a range of 4 or 5 gears for my flat, coastal jaunts of 6 to 10 miles. The ride is nimble and responsive. I do wish Public would provide more frame geometry details. Sight unseen I was concerned the M/L frame was too short. However the generous seat post took care of that. I did install an adjustable stem to keep the bars closer. I look forward to many fun miles over the years."
"Great fun ride."
"Love it. I did think it would come fully assembled. My husband put it together for me. It rides so smoothe and fast."
"Nice bike - looks good, rides smooth and fast, easy to assemble w/ partial assembly option. Only gripe - brakes were mushy out of the box but easy to adjust. . . Also I tried to rate via email but did not work . . . or maybe worked and this is an additional rating"
"My 48 year-old Raleigh Sport three-speed was stolen out of my garage on September 6. My heart was in pieces and I went into a deep funk. But with the help of my close friend Bruce, we located the Public V7i, a PERFECT replacement for my Raleigh with the look and feel of a classic English bike (British Racing Green, no less), seven speeds, and the latest in components. I am impressed, thrilled, and glad to report that my heart has been put back together. To To my Raleigh: "I hope you have found a good home.""
"I already own this bicycle. I like it so much, I purchased a second one for my vacation home. I had it delivered to and assembled by a local bicycle shop as part of Public's delivery service. Unfortunately their is some clunking as I peddle at every gear level. I hope its just a minor adjustment. But its a bit of a hassle to take it back to the bike shop."
"Solid, but stem a bit long"
"Slick and smooth, like a fresh shave. Fun to look at, fun to ride."
