The PUBLIC R18 Drop Bar was designed with the commuter, adventurer, and everyday rider in mind.

This (2×9) 18-speed bike’s versatile geometry and lightweight Chromoly frame make it great for soaking up the bumps while navigating the daily commute, logging some fitness miles, or weekend adventures.

With semi-upright and aerodynamic riding position options, the R18 Drop Bar ensures an easy-to-operate, responsive, yet comfortable experience all in one.

Designed with utility in mind, the bike is spec'd with alloy fenders to keep you clean and dry, front and rear rack mounts, and secondary inline brake levers that offer convenient braking while riding in the most upright position.

An homage to road bikes of the past, but with the benefits of modern geometry and components, the PUBLIC R18 is perfect for riders looking for an entry-level road bike, daily commuter, or pure recreation.

Success: Compact Frame (XS) fits 4'11" human

"The bike arrived as expected in an un-assembled state. It took about 1. 5 hours to un-box the bike, assemble it, dispose of the packing material and then ride the bike !! No issues were found and only some minor adjustments for shifting and braking were necessary after completion of assembly."

Favorite bike I’ve owned!

"This is my all-time favorite bike I’ve ever owned. My first one was stolen and I’m so glad they had the same bike (with some gear upgrades) available! It’s a great bike for around town and love the versatility of the drop handle and breaks. The guys who put my bike together (they train Olympic bikers) were geeking out over the details, quality, design, and how this bike was worth every penny and more. They see a lot of bikes so this was great to hear since I’m a novice comparatively. Love this bike (and company) and can’t recommend them enough!"

Fantastic bike to get me moving!

"This bike is amazing! I haven't owned a bike in some years, but I used to ride a road style bike similar to the R18 Dropbar in college and this this reminds me of everything I loved about previous bike! It was easy to assemble and I was up in riding the same day it was delivered. I was worried that the bike wouldn't be large enough (I'm 6'4") but I was able to fit on the bike no problem. My one conplaint, the bike won't shift up the cassette... the bike is stuck in the lowest gear setting and I have to manually move the chain in order to change the gear. Overall, very happy with my purchase!"

Great ride, happy customer!

"It's been a couple weeks and I've put about 100 miles on my R18. I'm quite happy with the purchase! This bike is fun to ride! The Ready to Ride assembly option made it easy to get thw bike ready to go. As I've seen noted in a few other reviews, minor adjustments are needed, but this is frequiently the case for breaking in new bikes. I strongly recommend planning on a trip to your local bike shop for a tune up. Thanks!"
