Sierra Club PUBLIC Bike

Custom Sierra Club PUBLIC bike
(Currently not available)

What better way to show us the love - for the environment and for Sierra Club - than to ride your very own custom Sierra Club bicycle? Hop on your bike and pedal to work, to a picnic in the park, to a trailhead for your next hike or to your corner store. Wherever your destination, you're sure to enjoy the ride.

A limited number of Sierra Club bikes were produced.

This is the first-ever official Sierra Club bicycle, and it is designed for those of us who enjoy human-powered exhilaration.

Not only will you avoid traffic and circling the block for a parking space, but you can also feel good knowing a portion of the sale of each Sierra Club bike will go back to the Sierra Club to support the mission to explore, enjoy, and protect the planet. Please consider becoming a Sierra Club member to receive a member discount on this custom bike.

The special-edition Sierra Club bicycle, made by PUBLIC, combines stunning European-inspired design with comfort and performance. The steel frame, rear rack, chain guard, fenders, and inside rim will be painted in a custom, glossy green and finished with the Sierra Club logo in white on the head tube and rear fender.

The slogan "Explore, enjoy and protect the planet" appears on both sides of the frame down tube. The Sierra Club bicycle is a lightweight, easy-shifting, seven-speed bike designed for stop-and-go riding. It's ideal for rides in any urban terrain, whether you want to zip around town or take the scenic route. Comfortable enough for everyday trips for casual riders and reliable enough to be your everyday, rain-or-shine, commuter workhorse.

The Sierra Club PUBLIC bicycle is available in two styles:

1. The PUBLIC V7 features a sloped diamond frame geometry, commonly found in many road and mountain bicycles.

2. The PUBLIC C7 features a step-thru "Dutch-style" frame, preferred by riders who wear skirts, dresses, kilts, and those who don't want to lift their legs over a top tube to get on and off a bicycle (SOLD OUT).

Signature PUBLIC features include a lightweight, durable, steel frame that's guaranteed for life. Featherweight aluminum chain guard and sturdy steel fenders keep your clothes clean. The easy-shifting, seven-speed city derailleur system takes you virtually anywhere and back, even up and down the hills of San Francisco, where the bikes are designed. Put simply, the Sierra Club PUBLIC bike rides like butter.

We make delivery and assembly easy for you, including our unique Ready to Ride option that allows anyone to assemble a PUBLIC bike at their home or office in minutes (tools included). A few turns of the wrench and you'll be ready to roll. Live in the San Francisco Bay Area? Look for the opportunity to pick up your bike when you check-out online.

  • Eco-Friendly: Powered by human energy instead of fossil fuels, your Sierra Club PUBLIC bike is the ultimate green machine. Because riding a bike is basically like hugging a tree.
  • Comfortable: Steel tubing and frame geometry make for a softer ride than with other materials. Seats are designed for normal clothing.
  • Ergonomic: Upright handlebars keep you looking forward, not down. They're also kinder to your back.
  • Practical: Kickstands so you don't have to prop your bike up against a lamppost. And chain guards to keep grease off your fresh, clean clothes.
  • Modern: The Shimano 7-speed rear derailleur and Revo twist shifter brings state-of-the-art technology to the shifting system. Changing gears is done with a simple twist of the wrist.
  • Safe Braking: Alloy brakes combine with lightweight alloy rims with machined brake surfaces for quick, safe and controlled stops.
  • City Smart: 35 MM tires are wide enough to handle curbs and potholes but narrow enough for speed.
  • Feet Friendly: Reinforced resin pedals designed wide enough to ride with boots, pumps, flip-flops, or anything in between.
  • Durable: The hi-tensile steel frame is guaranteed for life.
  • Return Policy Since these are custom produced Sierra Club PUBLIC bikes, we cannot accept any returns.
