Are you a San Francisco type or an Oakland type? This question lingers with many people who call the Bay Area home. In 1936, the East and West communities of the Bay Area came together like never before. While ferries had long carried people across the Bay's often choppy waters the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge immediately became the favorite way to travel between San Francisco and the East Bay.
Today we find ourselves persuading the powers that be that the Bay Bridge needs a bicycle lane that spans the entire distance between Oakland and San Francisco.
