The PUBLIC D1 is a Cruiser for Modernists. It is our lightest and purest model and a quintessential statement in simplicity.

Having only one gear (i.e. one speed), it is ideal for flat and gently sloping topographies. But it is geared generously so that fit bicyclists can ride it almost anywhere, (including San Francisco). The light steel frame makes it an ideal choice for urbanites that carry a bike up or down stairs for home or office or onto trains and subways. The frame style is based on the classic "diamond" frame geometry that has been the standard for city bikes, touring bikes, and even racing bikes dating back to the late 19th century.

We make delivery and assembly easy for you

  • Lightweight: At 26.5 lbs with fenders and kickstand, it is our lightest bike and a superb example of modern steel frame construction.
  • Comfortable and Smooth Riding: Steel tubing and frame geometry make for a softer ride experience than other frames and materials.
  • Practical: Kickstands so you don't have to prop your bike up against a lamppost. Chain guards and fenders to keep oil and water off your clothes. Designed to accommodate our racks and baskets for extra carrying capabilities.
  • Feet friendly: Ride with boots, pumps, flip-flops, or anything in between
  • Ergonomic: Upright handlebars keep you looking up, not down, and are kind to your back. Seats are designed for normal clothing and we offer special comfort options for any and all rear ends.
  • Safe: Powerful modern brakes for quick stopping and reflective strips on tires for nighttime visibility.
  • City Smart: 35 MM tires are wide enough to handle curbs and potholes but narrow enough for speed.
  • Durable: Steel frame will last a lifetime if taken care of properly and guaranteed for life.

The feel of the ride itself may be the best thing about our bikes which is why we offer our First Ride Guarantee. If you do not love your bike from the first ride, we'll take it back.

Delivery: Your bike is ready to ship within 3-5 business days. We'll deliver it to your door or to your local bike shop.
