New Spring Colors! The new PUBLIC C7i is now available in powder blue, chartreuse, and red. Shop new colors here.

The PUBLIC C7i is our most affordable internally geared, lightweight, steel-frame city bike. The easy-shifting, seven-speed internal hub gear system takes you virtually anywhere and back, even up and down the toughest hills of San Francisco. With its curved, open, step-through frame design, it is especially well suited for those who wear skirts or prefer not to swing a leg over a typical frame crossbar. Color options include our classic Royal Blue and Red.

The Shimano Nexus 7-speed internally geared hub allows you to shift gears without having to pedal, whether you're stopped at an intersection or coasting. This feature is what sets it apart from our regular derailleur bikes and makes it ideal for stop-and-go city riding. Put simply, the PUBLIC C7i rides like butter. With the gears sealed in the rear hub, the PUBLIC C7i is also more impervious to bumpy roads, bad weather and the all the challenging conditions that daily city riding dishes out.

The PUBLIC C7i is a fashion-forward bike that combines old-school aesthetic charm with modern components. Reliable and utilitarian enough to be your everyday, rain or shine, commuter workhorse. Chic enough to turn heads on the streets. You can dress it up with a pannier, basket, special grips, Brooks saddle, or other accessories to suit your personality or functional needs.

The PUBLIC C7i features matching color double walled rims, fenders and chain guard, color coordinated cable housing, cream tires, and optional matching rear racks. The PUBLIC C7i brings a level of quality at an affordable price that's hard to beat. We challenge you to find a better, more affordable multi-speed internally geared, steel-frame city bike with this style and all these features.

We make delivery and assembly easy for you, including our unique Ready to Ride option that allows anyone to assemble a PUBLIC bike at their home or office in minutes (tools included).
