The PUBLIC C3 is our newest Dutch-style, 3-speed internal hub gear, all-purpose, lightweight steel-frame urban bike. The internal hub gearing allows you to shift gears without having to pedal, whether you're stopped at an intersection or coasting. The three speed gears provide plenty of range for moderate hill climbing. With its curved, open, step-through frame design, it is often referred to as a Dutch bike. But this classic European geometry is seen on the streets from Denmark to Italy and now more frequently in the US. It is especially well suited for those who wear skirts, carry extra weight on the rear rack, or prefer not to swing a leg over a typical frame crossbar.

Old-school aesthetic charm with modern components. Reliable and utilitarian enough to be your everyday, rain or shine, commuter workhorse. The inside of the tire rims on the PUBLIC C3 are painted to match the frame color. Color options include our classic Cream, Powder Blue, and Orange.

Signature PUBLIC features include a durable, long-lasting steel-frame. Guaranteed for life. Upright handlebars and relaxed frame geometry provide European feel and comfort. Featherweight aluminum chain guard and fenders keep your clothes clean and tidy on the way to work, coffee date or gallery event. You can add a PUBLIC rack to carry a pannier, rear basket, or bungee your items.

The list of thoughtful, civilized details are listed below. But you need to ride the bike to appreciate the solid, quiet feel of its ride. Put simply, the PUBLIC C3 rides like butter.

We make delivery and assembly easy for you, including our unique Ready to Ride option that allows anyone to assemble a PUBLIC bike at their home or office in minutes (tools included).

Details

  • Comfortable: Steel tubing and accurate frame geometry make for a softer ride than with other materials. Seats are designed for normal clothing.
  • Ergonomic: Upright handlebars keep you looking forward, not down. They're also kinder to your back.
  • Practical: Kickstands so you don't have to prop your bike up against a lamppost. And chain guards to keep grease off your fresh, clean clothes.
  • Modern: The Shimano Nexus system brings state-of-the-art smart technology to the shifting system. Changing through the three-gears is about as easy as shifting an automatic car.
  • Safe Braking:Alloy brakes combine with lightweight alloy rims with machined brake surfaces for quick, safe and controlled stops.
  • City Smart: 35 MM tires are wide enough to handle curbs and potholes but narrow enough for speed.
  • Feet Friendly: Reinforced resin pedals designed wide enough to ride with boots, pumps, flip-flops, or anything in between.
  • Durable: The hi-tensile steel frame is guaranteed for life.
  • Love At First Ride Or Your Money Back: The ride itself may be the best thing about your PUBLIC bike. Which is why we offer our Love at First Ride guarantee: If you do not love your bike from the very first ride, well take it back. Period.

Delivery: Your bike is ready to ship within 3-5 business days. We'll deliver it to your door or to your local bike shop.
