Kit Hinrichs Framed 20 X 30 Poster

For 20x30 Unframed or 40x60 Canvas, see below
$295.00

Hinrich's poster captures the international nature of the urban biking movement by singling out several cities that have taken leadership positions in smarter transportation.

This piece has a rich texture and various levels of information. The elegance of the piece has some deceptively clever details, like the way in which the Paris - Beijing angle divides the piece into two triangles that form a diamond configuration - the same geometry as the classic diamond bike frame. The way the foreground and background play in scale is another signature Hinrich's design element.

Each of the cities has a story worth knowing about. In Beijing there are 5 million people riding bikes everyday. Paris established the model for city bike share. New York is the leading US city for improved bike infrastructure. San Francisco boasts the largest bike advocacy group. London is uncharacteristically non-British by instituting radical changes in many transportation policies. And Amsterdam, well we all wish we could have the same respect for pedestrian's cyclists.

Kit Hinrichs manages San Francisco based Studio Hinrichs following a career at Pentagram and Pedersen, Hinrichs & Shakery. His work is characterized by its narrative quality and an encyclopedic set of references. His instincts as a visual storyteller and a collector influence his work. His 5,000-piece-strong collection of American flags and American flag memorabilia has formed the basis of several exhibitions and two books.
