PUBLIC Service

Every bike needs some TLC from time to time, so we’ve set up a special PUBLIC Service program in the Bay Area to help keep your bike in shape and to help make your rides enjoyable, safe, & fun. Below are our recommended service options. Select the one that suits you best, then click here or call our retail stores to schedule a time to drop off your bike.

All services are done at either our Valencia Store or Oakland store (not at South Park). We provide full service on any PUBLIC Bike and limited services on other bikes depending on parts availability. So hit us up and then come on down - this is money well spent. Winter months are the best time to get your bike in shape.

2 - 5 months after purchase

If you’ve had your bike for a few months and haven’t taken it in yet it’s probably about time for a quick tune-up. In the quick tune-up we adjust your brakes and gears, as well as lube all the moving parts.

Recommended:
6 months after purchase

Is your bike squeaking, creaking or just not working the same as when it was new? It’s probably time for a tune-up. We recommend that you give your bike a full service every 6 months.

Includes:
• Adjust front and rear brakes
• Adjust shifting
• True wheels
• Adjust all bearings
• Lube chain & cables
$100

Recommended:
Annually

If your bike is dirty and needs some maintenance, this is the package for you. This can be done any time, but is necessary at least once a year.

Includes:
• Adjust front and rear brakes
• Adjust shifting
• True wheels
• Adjust all bearings
• Lube chain & cables
• Apply rust inhibitor on bolts and spokes
• Clean crank, chain, cassette, derailleurs

FAQs

When can I drop my bike off?
Click here or call either our Valencia Store or Oakland Store to make an appointment. We’ll get back to you right away and do everything we can to accommodate your schedule.

How long will it take?
All repairs require a 24-48 hour turnaround, unless otherwise specified.

Can I drop in and leave my bike with you?
We strongly advise you to make an appointment before coming down. We are happy to take a look at your bike at any time if you drop by, but we can serve you better if you check in first.

Where can I drop my bike off?
All services are done at our Oakland Store and our Valencia Store.

Will you fix my bike even if it’s not a PUBLIC?
We’ll do our best to provide service for everyone, however we only carry replacement parts for our bikes. So, if we don’t have what you need on hand, we’ll either order it for you or happily direct you to another bike shop.
